Fr Richard’s Weekly Message 5th Sunday in Ordinary Time (Year A)
Friday 3rd February 2023.
My dear people,
As the resumption of our normal activities for the year is complete now that all children have returned to school, we can start looking forward to all parish activities starting again. The Evangelisation team has already had its first meeting and the Parish Leadership Team will start meeting again for the year on the 9th February. Many parish groups have also resumed their activities, all of which are advertised in the bulletin.
Following up on what I announced last week, the survey to assist us in deepening our faith and strengthening our parish community is now available. Please complete this survey to help us understand ways in which we can grow as a missionary parish, and in our own individual spirituality, so that in becoming better Catholics, we can better present Christ to others. I strongly encourage you to take the time required to fill out the survey as it will enable us to hear your thoughts and opinions. The survey will be handed out at Mass this weekend for those who prefer doing it manually but it can also be done on-line. This is the link to the survey:

We resume Devotions to the Sacred Heart of Jesus this evening. We will begin with Mass at 7:00pm and this will be immediately followed by prayers for the Devotions to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. There will be a period of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and the Sacrament of Confession will also be available at that time. Also, Devotions to the Immaculate Heart of Mary will take place tomorrow at 3:30pm in the church meeting rooms.
Our parish playgroup, for pre-school children and their carers, will start again on the 9th February. A reminder that the group meets every week on Thursday at 10:30am for one and a half hours in the church meeting rooms.
I am pleased to inform you that we have an aspirant to the Institute of the Incarnate Word (IVE) with us. David Au is originally from Malaysia and will spend the next two weeks with us as he gives himself the time to familiarise himself with parish life in Melbourne. I invite you to welcome David and he will be available after the Masses to meet you.
We continue turning to our patron saint and we ask for her intercession.
St Catherine of Siena, Pray for us.
Yours sincerely in Christ,
Fr Richard Rosse PP
