MESSAGE ON THE 14TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (YR C)
Friday 4th July 2025.
My dear people,
My fortnightly message to you begins again after a 5-week break due to my annual leave this year. As I shared before leaving, I went to Europe together with my family to celebrate my mum’s 70th birthday. It was a time of great blessings as we were given the opportunity to catch up with friends and family. It was also the experience of a lifetime for my mum as we were able to go to Lourdes, Fatima and Rome, visiting some wonderful sites associated with our faith. I thank you for your prayers for my family and me during that time.
We will be honoured and privileged to host Bishop Martin Ashe for a pastoral visitation on 25th, 26th and 27th July. At the meeting which I had with him on Tuesday morning, Bishop Ashe said that the purpose of his visitation is principally to encourage us as we endeavour to be disciples of Jesus Christ at St Catherine of Siena, Caroline Springs. It will be an opportunity for him to listen to our hopes and challenges. There will be an opportunity for members of ministries to meet him on 26th July in the morning and an open forum will follow that meeting where the whole parish is invited to meet Bishop Ashe. He will also celebrate the four Masses that weekend. More information will be made available next week.
Tomorrow night, 5th July, from 6:30pm, we will have one of the fundraisers for the refurbishment/extension of the church. Tickets are available with Sonny and Jenny Mallia on 0412583069 and 0413478780 respectively. We are likewise immensely grateful to Sonny and Jenny and their team for putting the Dance Night together. I hope to see a large number of parishioners there. All for a good cause!
As announced over the weekend, the next “Town Hall” of the parish will take place on Thursday 17th July at 7pm. The financial situation of the parish for the year 2024 will be presented. The Parish Leadership Team will also talk about our achievements over the past year and areas of focus going into the future.
We thank the members of the Spiritual Renewal Ministries for the success of the Healing Masses since they started in May. The next one will be on 13th July at 5pm. It will be preceded by the rosary at 4pm, Praise and Worship at 4:30 and Mass at 5pm. You are all most welcome to attend.
We continue turning to our patron saint and we ask for her intercession.
St Catherine of Siena, Pray for us.
Yours sincerely in Christ,

Fr Richard Rosse PP
