2025 Parish Town Hall: A Night of Vision, Reflection, and Renewal

On Thursday, 17 July 2025, the St Catherine of Siena Parish community in Caroline Springs gathered for its annual Parish Town Hall Meeting—an evening of prayer, reflection, and shared vision for the future. The event opened with prayer, grounding the night in faith, followed by a review of the 2024 Finance Report and a Q&A session allowing parishioners to ask questions and share feedback.
A key part of the evening was a presentation on the 2024 Parish Highlights, celebrating the many ways God has been at work in the life of the parish. Over 300 children received the sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation, or First Holy Communion, made possible through strong collaboration with the two local Catholic primary schools and the Society of Christian Doctrine (SCD). At the Easter Vigil, three adults were joyfully welcomed into full communion with the Church.
In 2024, the parish also completed its 11th Alpha course, continuing to be a powerful tool for evangelisation and a space for people to encounter Jesus. The Ablaze Young Adults group was launched in November, offering young people (ages 18–35) a place for friendship, formation, and leadership in faith. Other highlights included the change of Sunday Mass times to support a more welcoming environment, and much-loved fellowship events such as Carols by Candlelight, BBQs, and the Volunteer Appreciation Lunch.
Looking ahead, the 2025 Parish Focus was shared. While the church expansion project has faced delays due to financial challenges, a fundraising committee has been formed and new initiatives are underway. The parish is also launching a Grief and Bereavement Ministry to offer pastoral care to those experiencing loss or hardship. Since May 2025, monthly Healing Masses have been introduced, offering a time of prayer, worship, and healing through the Eucharist, Exposition, and personal prayer ministry.
At the heart of the evening was a renewed call to stay focused on what matters most: the mission of the Church. Rooted in the love of God and inspired by the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19), the parish remains committed to forming intentional disciples of Jesus through the Five Systems of Parish Life: Evangelisation, Discipleship, Fellowship, Worship, and Service. Special attention is also being given to Small Group Discipleship as a key pathway to lifelong faith and community.
It was also shared that as we move forward, we must remain deeply rooted in prayer, always seeking God’s guidance so that we may do His will and not our own. Every decision, ministry, and initiative should be undertaken in the light of discovering and accomplishing God’s will for our parish. We were reminded to let the Holy Spirit guide us in all things, trusting that He will lead us to where God desires us to be. The evening concluded with final reflections, an invitation to continue supporting the parish mission, and a blessing over all present.
