PLT Parish Update October 2024 – Tina Matana

In this month the PLT’s key areas of discussion, we highlight the planning and organizing for important upcoming Parish events:

 

Parish Christmas Carols
PLT and Carols Committee are meeting fortnightly to discuss and plan for Christmas Carols, the event that brings our parish community together celebrating Advent and Christmas marking the end of a successful year of growth in discipleship, leadership and missionary renewal.

 

Alpha 2025
Alpha course remains one of our main tools for evangelization and transformation. Our new Alpha team for 2025 continues to meet on a monthly basis for team building, fellowship and opportunity for formation.

The focus of our October meeting has been setting the scene to acknowledge gifts, talents in facilitating, leading and serving based on strengths and calling revealed through prayer, conversation and formation opportunity through upcoming Alpha Catholic Conference.

 

Alpha Catholic Conference
PLT and Alpha Team are invited to attend the Alpha Catholic Conference on 8-9 November. A National two-day Conference that seeks to equip and empower leaders to explore Alpha as a catalyst for intergenerational renewal.

 

‘The Bethany Way’ – free retreat from the Archdiocese
Six Ministry leaders/members selected from our Parish attended this free retreat introducing them to ‘The Bethany Way’ – a journey of being formed in the faith and equipped to form others, in their field of influence: grow to pray more authentically, believe more deeply, articulate more clearly and love more faithfully. Our parish ministry leaders/members described the experience as profound, reinvigorating and inspiring.

 

Advent Formation
Advent Parish formation opportunity is coming up. Br Greg is planning and organising to run this formation program during Advent season. Once finalised, details will be made available in the bulletin.

 

PLT Support to Ministry Coordinators
The PLT continues to support our ministry coordinators in their efforts to align our ministries to the 5 systems of a missional parish – Worship, Fellowship, Evangelisation, Discipleship & Service reflected on our Leadership summits with the upcoming fourth summit to be held on Thursday 14 th November focusing on raising up future leaders aligned to missionary renewal.
