MESSAGE ON THE 33RD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (YR C)

My dear people,
As mentioned before, 34 of our younger parishioners will be attending the Australian Catholic Youth Festival (ACYF) this year. This three-day festival is one of faith, prayer and community – like a mini–World Youth Day! It will provide a great chance to meet young Catholics, grow in faith, and be inspired in daily life. The total cost to the parish of sending these parishioners to ACYF is $12,500. I would like to sincerely thank you for the contributions to the two fund raising activities already conducted; these brought us to a total of $7,302.20. The next fundraising activity is a special collection at Masses this weekend and another sausage sizzle/bake sale next weekend. Please give generously.
We were truly blessed to host the First Class relic of St Carlo Acutis and his Exhibit of Eucharistic Miracles from 3rd to 8th November. St Carlo is the first millennial saint since he was born in 1991. He is also one of the first two saints canonised by Pope Leo XVI. I would like to sincerely thank all the people who helped put the veneration of the relic and the exhibition together. Your assistance is truly appreciated. I have been told of the steady flow of people who visited throughout the week and of the many blessings people have received. We have had a surplus of $4,682.61.
I am overjoyed to announce that we will run our Annual Carols by Candlelight again this year on 14th December. Food will be available from 4pm as well as different activities for children. The singing of carols will begin at 6pm and the evening will conclude at 8pm. I would like to thank the Carols Committee who have been working very hard to make sure that our carols event is a great success again. Please put the date in your diaries. I look forward to seeing many of you there.
